On April 22, 2021, the Minhang District People’s Government and the Minhang District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau jointly held the 4.26 World Intellectual Property Day themed publicity event-Shanghai • Minhang Intellectual Property “IP Story”. Mr. Guan Xiaojun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Minhang District Committee and Deputy District Mayor, Zhang Yongzhong, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Office, and Feng Xiao, Director of the Minhang District Market Supervision Administration and the Intellectual Property Office attended the event. Mr. Yin Bing, a second-level investigator of the Market Supervision Administration of Minhang District, Shanghai, Mr. Yuan Zhenfu, Deputy Dean of the School of Intellectual Property of Shanghai University, Mr. Chen Xiaodong, General Manager of Shanghai Rizhisheng Technology Co., Ltd., and President of the Intellectual Property Association of Minhang District, and Shanghai Bixing Knowledge The general manager of Property Agency Co., Ltd. Xue Qi jointly formed an expert jury to comment on the patent stories shared by eight enterprises in Minhang District from the comprehensive perspective of “politics, industry, education, research and application”. The event set up one “Ingenuity Award”, two “Intellectual Property Pioneer Award” and five “Tackling Difficulties Award”, which were voted by the expert jury and the public. Ms. Wang Huihui, a forward-looking technical engineer of our Institute of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, participated in the sharing activity on behalf of S Company.
The eight sharers come from all walks of life and have a wide range of positions, including corporate managers, intellectual property managers, legal managers, R&D engineers, and so on. Through vivid, wonderful and vivid speeches, everyone promoted intellectual property-related knowledge to the general public. Based on actual work experience, Ms. Wang Huihui talked about SONGZ’s battery cooler research and development road, shared the process of product patent search, analysis, avoidance of infringement and layout, and introduced that the company “must conduct patent search before developing new products. And do a good job in the research and development model of infringement avoidance design”, emphasizing the insistence on independent innovation, breaking through the patent encirclement, and no patent infringement litigation has occurred so far. Ms. Wang Huihui’s sharing was highly praised by the judges, and SONGZ’s intellectual property protection awareness and R&D model were highly recognized by the expert group.
After fierce competition, Ms. Wang Huihui won the “Intellectual Property Pioneer Award” on behalf of SONGZ Company; Deputy Commissioner Zhang Yongzhong personally presented the certificate and trophy to her.
For enterprises, intellectual property rights have the dual attributes of rights and assets. Having intellectual property rights is equivalent to possessing a monopoly of this technology in the market. At the same time, intellectual property can be directly transformed into a company’s core assets, which is an important part of building a company’s core competitiveness.
